Comments from Commuters at Bush Hill Park - July 2008

"Every week there is either a delay or cancellation. Engineering works are never completed on time. Some weekends the trains do nto run at all".

"Use of Oyster ... would be great!".

"Lack of carriages in rush hour. No additional trains for carriages on Spurs weekday matches. Weekend service is unreliable especially in morning with no info given. Change of timetable has increased crowding on rush hour trains".

"The reliability has improved sicne National Express took over. Overcrowding is a huge problem and the exit at Seven Sisters is a safety hazard at peak times".

Comments from Commuters on the Enfield Town line - June 2008

"I have to admit that the service does deem to meet my expections. After using the services for 3 years, expections are so low I have come to expect regular lateness, delays, cancellations and poor customer service ... Trains are overcrowded and it makes the overall commuting experience somewhat of a recyclcled nightmare".

"It would be better if trains ran more frequently during football matches ...''

"The key problem is coming home from Seven Sisters around 6-7pm. One night I could not get on two consecutive trains due to overcrowding/short trains ...''

"Whilst the service is better than the early days of the ONE service, there is still room for improvement ... Also, there should be the facility to use Oyster cards at the station".

"The train service from Enfield has got steadily worse. There are too few trains at peak times and often not enough carriages. Fares rose by 10% without any improvements to the service".

" Comments: I would like to stress the difficultly of getting to Southbury train station, during the afternoon, from seven sisters there is only one train a hour, which is terrible, considering the price we are expected to pay for a zone 1-5 pass. Also the fact that the trains are over crowded when travelling to Liverpool Street station on the 7.10 train in the mornings. ''

and from this commuter....

Below is a list of issues (I commute from Enfield Town to Liverpool

Street)

1) Infrequently timetabled trains. This includes peak services all over place. We used to have trains every 15 mins, now we have every 10 or 20 mins. Pathetic. Give us a proper timetable.

Peak hour evening returns. Since the new timetable we've LOST trains between 6 and 7 in the evening.

One train an hour on a Sunday. I thought we were pushing for an integrated public service. No wonder we all drive our cars....

Saturday trains all over place, sometimes every hour, sometimes every 30 mins. Have these people ever travelled on their own trains.

2) Trains that are too . Often we have 4 coaches instead of 8.

Dangerous and uncomfortable. People squeeze into things like the unused driver compartments just to get on to the train

3) Trains are filthy and poorly maintained. Chairs pulled up, dirty seats, doors that don't shut properly, no air conditioning, etc.

4) My train is ALWAYS late. Only by 2/3 mins but ALWAYS late. I find it ridiculous that a service from Enfield to Liverpool Street takes nearly 40mins. Put on some 'fast' trains please and be more punctual.

I'm glad you've started this. Please publicise the campaign more and I'm sure you'll get people signing up in there thousands.

and from this passenger....

I often use the Gordon Hill station and always have to sit on my mobile whilst waiting for the trains especially during the winter as its really dark and I am afraid I may get attacked. Also the weekend service is very poor and I often have to use buses which takes longer. ...

and more.....

After Ponders End Station, Tottenham Hale is our next stop. The train, most often comprising of 8 coaches, often arrives in an overcrowded condition. When the train is formed of 4 coaches only, it is impossible to board. If ONE knows at the onset of a journey that a sort formed train will give problems further along the line, why don't they make arrangements to stop other trains to ease the problem? They don't. They never have, never will. There is an inability at ONE to calculate the required size of a train based on season ticket sales. Nor do they take into account the extra number of new houses being built along the route, or, the extra passengers these houses will afford them.

and more....

Mine and my husband's jobs have nearly been destroyed by the timetable brought in 12/05. We have a young child and our lives have to revolve around his times - not a single train out of Southbury now delivers that service. If you need to get home during the day, there's only one train per hour out of Liverpool St. to Southbury. The pre-12/05 timetable allowed for an 8.06am fast train to Liverpool Street. Now this train does not exist - it has been replaced by a train at 08.11am (so five minutes later already) and stops at every station which adds an additional 10 - 12 minutes to your journey and by virtue of the fact that it is late nearly every morning, you have a recipe for disaster for those of us who do not work directly outside Liverpool Street.

WE MUST HAVE THAT PEAK RUSH-HOUR TRAIN REINSTATED FROM
